Neuro physiotherapy (or neuro rehab) is specialised treatment for people with conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, or nerves. It helps improve movement, strength, balance, and independence following conditions such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, or spinal cord injury.

Neuro rehab is suitable for anyone living with a neurological condition or recovering from an injury that affects movement, balance, or coordination. This includes people recovering from:

• Stroke or brain injury

• Spinal cord injury

• Multiple sclerosis (MS)

• Parkinson’s disease

• Peripheral nerve injuries

A typical session includes:

• A personalised assessment of your movement, balance, and functional ability

• Goal-setting based on what’s most important to you (e.g., walking safely, using your arm, improving daily activities)

• Tailored exercises and techniques such as strength training, balance retraining, gait (walking) practice, and functional activities

Yes. Neuro physiotherapy plays a vital role in stroke recovery. Therapy can support regaining movement, improving balance and coordination, and relearning everyday tasks, even months or years after a stroke.

Yes. We provide home visit physiotherapy across Lambourn, Newbury, Hungerford and West Berkshire which is especially helpful if mobility is limited. We can adapt exercises to your home environment and help with everyday functional tasks.

The length of rehab depends on the condition, severity, and your goals. Some people benefit from short programmes, while others need ongoing support. We review progress regularly and adjust your plan as needed.

You can stop physiotherapy at any point and are not obliged to carry on. You can also have periods of breaks in between sessions and return once your previous goal has been achieved.

Yes. Online sessions are available via secure video call. While not suitable for every situation, they are a good option for some clients who want guidance, exercise progression, and regular check-ins without travelling.
